Designer Elias Olderbakk and his partner Anna Grøgaard completely reimagined their 1890s Oslo apartment, blending historic charm with contemporary functionality through the addition of a series of custom hand-crafted elements. A pine plywood wardrobe with integrated seating defines the hallway and transitions seamlessly into the open-plan kitchen, which features a mix of pine and metal finishes and a stainless steel benchtop.
The living area showcases a 4.5m bench with concealed storage and reversible wool covers, cleverly doubling as guest beds. In the home office, a striking floor-to-ceiling pine bookshelf with bright yellow shelving and integrated storage lines the wall, while a desk spanning the window provides a shared workspace for both residents, overlooking the block’s picturesque shared backyard.
