Room to Improve - returns for a third series, and faces some of the toughest challenges yet.

On Room to Improve clients normally demand a lot from their architect. These days, they demand even more. More space, better value for money and layouts that will work just as well in ten years time as they do today.

In this, the third series of Room to Improve, presenter and architect Dermot Bannon is tested to his absolute limits. With budgets ranging from €.35,000 to .€120,000, Dermot Bannon must remodel eight homes, from concept to completion.

    Episode 1

    Room to Improve starts with Jennifer Burke and Quenton McGrath, Dermot knows exactly how to solve their problem but it means destroying a lot of the work the couple have already done.

    Episode 2

    In programme two of the brand new series of Room to Improve Dermot is in Enniskerry, with Eimear Lynott and Niall Quinn.

    Dermot needs to create "a bungalow downstairs" incorporating a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living and dining room.

    Dermot is normally confident about presenting a plan. But with a couple as design-literate as Greg and Siobhan, the stakes are that bit higher.

    Dermot is in Kilkenny with the Kirwan family where everything that can go wrong has gone wrong.

    Episode 7

    Dermot wants to turn the house completely on it's head, putting the bedrooms to the front and extending the back to include a kitchen, living and dining that leads into the garden.

    Episode 8

    Dermot is in Templetuohy, Co. Tipperary with Joanne and Sean Cleere who believe they need a substantial extension but Dermot doesn't actually concur. "Their existing space needs to be made more useful".
