Sometimes a good design is not enough to make architecture memorable. It also needs to provide a comfortable experience. Mr. Smith Oboyawat, architect with the Office of Bangkok Architects, came up with the idea of using water as the resort’s core element. Extensive but seamless use of water throughout the project, within the guestrooms, spa and elsewhere, made the environment refreshing and cozy. Beyond that, Veranda Chiang Mai reflects a combination of Northern Thai culture with materials from Central Thailand, all set within stunning rolling hills of a former longan orchard.
