Located at the top of a Haussmannian building on the prestigious Avenue de New York in Paris, this 13sqm/139sqft chambre de bonne has been transformed into a fully functional, light-filled studio by designers Pauline Paradis and Sarah Chayeb of Chayeb & Paradis.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese small spaces and compact boat interiors, the layout was completely reimagined to include a cozy 3sqm mezzanine bedroom, freeing up space below for a living area with a combined study and dining space, a fully equipped kitchen, and a compact bathroom. A daybed clad in ALPI wood serves as a sofa, guest bed, and storage unit, while mirrored cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom cleverly reflect light, enhancing the sense of space and brightness in this thoughtfully designed yet very compact home.
